Visitors choosing Minduri for its landscape and municipal cultural heritage can plan their trip around specific routes and protected sites. Different questions can help with orientation: Where does the route to Chapada das Perdizes begin? How does the route to a waterfall run? And what landscape and cultural connections shape the municipality?

Getting There and Routes to Waterfalls

Minduri is served by the BR-383. Check road conditions before setting out. In the town centre, the access road to Chapada das Perdizes begins on the road towards Carrancas. After one kilometre, turn right. This kilometre indicates the distance to the turn-off, not the total distance to Chapada.

The access road to Chapada also provides access to the Cachoeiras da Prata. If you plan your outing around this road, this connection is a useful point of reference. The Cachoeira do Quebra-Chifre has its own directions: From Minduri, drive towards São Vicente, turn left after five kilometres, then turn left again after another 300 metres. The route then passes through Fazenda do Monjolinho; the waterfall is approximately twelve kilometres away.

The directions for Chapada das Perdizes and Cachoeira do Quebra-Chifre should be kept distinct: one kilometre indicates the turn-off on the road towards Carrancas, while approximately twelve kilometres refers to the route from Minduri to Quebra-Chifre. This helps you match each landmark to its stated destination, rather than reading them as parts of a single distance. Before driving to Quebra-Chifre, check road conditions and signage again.

Both sets of directions provide specific guidance, but in different ways. For Chapada, they identify the starting point in the town centre, the road and the turn-off; for Quebra-Chifre, they also specify the direction towards São Vicente, two turns and Fazenda do Monjolinho. This helps you decide before setting out which route you want to prepare for in more detail.

Highlands and Views Across the Municipality

The municipality of Minduri includes highlands in the north. Its northern highland area is part of the Planalto Compartimentado da Serra da Mantiqueira; most of the region lies on the Planalto de Cruzília.

From its elevated position, the Árvore de Óleo offers visitors a privileged view of the town of Minduri and the Planalto Compartimentado da Serra da Mantiqueira to the north of the municipality. This brings two perspectives together: a view of the town and one of the highlands north of the municipality. If you want to include landscape features in your travel plans, this viewpoint offers a specific perspective alongside the directions to the waterfalls.

Protected Cultural Heritage in the Municipality

The municipal history also includes three protected sites. The Casa da Estação Ferroviária was protected by Minduri’s historical and cultural heritage authorities on 5 May 2005, under Municipal Decree No. 798 of the same date. The Paredão da Avenida Getúlio Vargas was also protected on 5 May 2005, under Municipal Decree No. 799. The two decisions therefore share the same date but concern different named sites and decrees.

The Árvore de Óleo is covered by a separate protection decision: it was protected in 2004 under Municipal Decree No. 670 for its historical, natural and landscape value. Taken together, the information shows two dates in the municipality’s heritage preservation: the protection of the Árvore de Óleo in 2004 and the two decisions of 5 May 2005. When planning your trip, you can therefore consider natural and landscape features alongside municipal cultural heritage, without treating the protected sites as part of a specific waterfall route.
