For planning a trip, Goianésia offers three distinct points of interest: the city’s history at the Museu Histórico de Goianésia Mário Augusto Alves, the Paróquia de Nossa Senhora da Abadia on Praça Laurentino Rodrigues, and Parque da Lagoa Princesa do Vale. This lets you decide whether you are more interested in the city’s history, a religious building with a documented date, or a walking path.

City History at the Centro Cultural

The Museu Histórico de Goianésia Mário Augusto Alves tells the story of the city and is located in the premises of the Centro Cultural Berchiolina Rodrigues. For visits and research, a municipal cultural plan lists opening hours as Monday to Friday, 8–11 a.m. and 1–5 p.m. Confirm the hours before visiting.

A 2021 description also mentions a photo gallery featuring people who helped build the city. These portraits complement the city’s history with the contributions of individuals to Goianésia’s development. Alongside the history of the city, this raises the question of who helped build it.

A Building on Praça Laurentino Rodrigues

The Paróquia de Nossa Senhora da Abadia on Praça Laurentino Rodrigues was built in 1957. Its construction date gives the site a clear historical connection. Unlike the museum, which tells the story of Goianésia, the church is a single, named building on a square that also has a name. The two attractions thus offer different perspectives on the cultural theme.

Leisure at Parque da Lagoa Princesa do Vale

A municipal announcement from September 2025 describes Parque da Lagoa Princesa do Vale as a leisure and meeting place that is frequently visited by local residents. A 2021 article lists a paved walking path as a leisure option. If this path is important to your plans, it is advisable to check its current condition. The park therefore offers a different focus from the museum and church: outdoor recreation rather than city and architectural history.

Historic Sites and Nature in the Municipality

In the municipality, Fazenda Itajá is described in a 2021 account as protected historical and cultural heritage. The manor house is described as having colonial influences and 41 rooms; construction began in mid-1951. Its protected status, style, size, and construction period give the historical theme a concrete architectural dimension.

Cachoeira do Paraíso is also described as a destination for hiking and cooling off. This is a different natural attraction from the paved walking path in the park: here, hiking and cooling off are the focus, while there, the emphasis is on a path for strolling. The two descriptions help distinguish outdoor interests without combining them into a single route.

There are several different interests to choose from: the museum, with its history and photo gallery; the church, with its construction date; the park as a leisure and meeting place; and nature attractions in the municipality.
