The Museu Casa de Quinca Moreira is located in the municipality of Salgado dos Moreiras, in the rural area of the Cágado district, on the banks of the Curu River, in São Gonçalo do Amarante. Its permanent exhibition includes more than 6,000 objects. For choosing a destination, this means there is a specific cultural point of interest along the Curu, in addition to the coastal and surfing appeal of Taíba Beach.
Taíba Beach: Beach and Surfing
The municipality highlights Taíba Beach as a tourist attraction. Morro do Chapéu is located on the beach; its wave break is known for international-quality waves suitable for surfing. The beach hosted Surf Brasil Pro 2026. Its first stage brought together more than 200 surfers from 14 states. Taíba can therefore be considered both for its named surf spot and for a specific competition held in 2026.
Cultural Heritage in Pecém and Siupé
In 2026, Vila dos Pescadores do Pecém was recognized as intangible cultural, tourist, and economic heritage of the municipality. The Festa Cultural do Distrito de Siupé was also recognized as intangible cultural heritage of the municipality in 2026; it takes place every year on Labor Day. The recognitions refer to different things: in Pecém, to the village; in Siupé, to an event held annually on the same date. The scope thus ranges from a named place to a festival with a fixed annual date.
Events Throughout the Year
The Cavalgada de Nossa Senhora da Soledade takes place every year on September 7, from the municipal administration or municipal seat to Siupé. São Gonçalo Junino also draws a large audience and features acts from Brazil’s national cultural scene. A specific date has been set for one event in the São João de Todos 2026 program: on June 27, the program in the Pecém district included the Festival Praia stage. The quadrilha performances were divided into adult and children’s categories; groups could participate only by invitation from the organizing committee.
Culinary Traditions and Travel Planning
Pastelzinho do Croatá was recognized as intangible cultural heritage of the municipality in 2026. The Escargot Festival takes place every year in August in Taíba. Ten chefs competed in a gastronomic contest for escargot and seafood, with escargot at the heart of the dishes.
If you are looking for a vacation rental, you can plan your trip around these highlights: are you most interested in Taíba Beach, with its beach and surfing appeal, or in cultural sites and festival dates? The annual dates belong to different events: the Festa Cultural do Distrito de Siupé takes place on Labor Day in May, the Escargot Festival takes place every year in August, and the Cavalgada de Nossa Senhora da Soledade takes place every year on September 7. These are distinct from the specifically dated program of São João de Todos 2026.
