Banja Dvorovi lies between the Sava and Drina rivers and gives a stay a clear focus on thermal waters, medical services and swimming. Dvorovi also offers well-defined points of interest for culture enthusiasts: the Church of the Holy Great Martyr Procopius, archaeological finds from several periods and documented past events. The seasonal difference is especially important when planning your trip: medical services are available year-round, while the outdoor pools are used seasonally.
Banja Dvorovi: Thermal Waters, Pools and Treatments
The spa complex includes an Olympic swimming pool, two smaller pools and two children’s pools. They all use thermal water, which is cooled to the desired bathing temperature. The spa’s outdoor pools are used seasonally; if swimming is the main reason for your trip, take this seasonal schedule into account when choosing your dates. Medical services are available year-round. These include mineral water therapy, acupuncture, various massages and inhalation treatments. As the availability of services may change, confirm the specific options before you travel. This means there are two separate planning considerations: the outdoor pools depend on the season, while medical services depend on the availability of the specific treatment you want.
Sports Facilities Around the Spa
The spa is not limited to swimming pools. It has courts for tennis, handball, volleyball and basketball. The JUB “Dvorovi” spa complex also has a small-sided football pitch. The activities on offer therefore range from swimming and wellness to several ball sports. If you would like to include sports alongside swimming, these facilities provide further concrete options for planning your stay.
Church and Local History
Construction of the Church of the Holy Great Martyr Procopius began in 1992 and was completed in 1996; it was consecrated on September 29, 1996. From 2002 to 2003, Petar Bilić of Belgrade painted the church’s frescoes. In 2013, it received a new, carved iconostasis made of linden wood. Its history therefore encompasses not only construction and consecration but also later stages of furnishing: the frescoes and iconostasis were added years after completion. For travelers interested in religious architecture and art history, this sequence offers a specific local point of interest.
Archaeological Traces and an Artifact in Bijeljina
Material traces from the Bronze Age and Iron Age have been found in the Dvorovi area. In the Bijeljina region, Dvorovi is among the local areas where the largest number of prehistoric finds from these two periods have been discovered. The Museum of Semberija in Bijeljina displays a sword dating from the 15th century, found in Dvorovi. The prehistoric finds from the area and this later artifact therefore belong to different historical periods. If you would like to see the exhibit, check visitor access at the museum before your visit.
Past Events in Dvorovi
The “Znanjem, pjesmom i igrom kroz Semberiju” festival has been held since 1967. On March 12, 2026, a qualifying evening took place at the cultural center in Dvorovi, where Dvorovi competed against Velika Obarska. Another past event was the International Children’s Folklore Festival “Dvorovi 2019,” which was held for the ninth time in 2019 at the swimming pools of Banja Dvorovi. It brought together eleven cultural and artistic associations, with a total of 420 participants from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, North Macedonia, Austria, Croatia and Romania. The groups paraded through Dvorovi and then performed traditional dances for the audience at the pool complex.
