Diersbach combines three hiking routes that are easy to compare with a landscape of forests, meadows, fields and streams. It also has a Gothic parish church and, in the north of the municipal area, hills with views of the Alpine foothills. This gives you two specific questions to consider when planning: Which route length suits your plans, and are you particularly interested in the landscape or the architectural history?

Hiking trails by route length

Three hiking trails make it easy to compare distances directly:

  • Panorama Trail: 11.80 kilometres
  • To the Old Linden Tree: 6.30 kilometres
  • Wöginger Loop: 5.40 kilometres

At 5.40 kilometres, the Wöginger Loop is the shortest of the three routes. To the Old Linden Tree is 0.90 kilometres longer, placing it in the middle; the Panorama Trail is more than twice as long as the Wöginger Loop. This range makes it easy to choose based on the distance you have in mind: you can first decide whether you want a shorter, medium-length or considerably longer hike.

Landscape and views

Diersbach’s varied landscape of forests, meadows, fields and streams, along with its unspoilt environment, invites you to explore on foot. Many hills in the north of the municipal area offer views of the Alpine foothills; when visibility is particularly good, the view extends as far as the Alps. This distinction matters when planning: the Alpine foothills are the general destination for the views, while seeing the Alps depends on particularly good visibility. You can therefore consider the landscape and views as a focus in their own right, alongside route length.

Gothic parish church and local history

Diersbach Parish Church combines a specific architectural history with a location rooted in the town’s medieval past. It stands on a hill spur that was part of a fortification in the Middle Ages. At the beginning of the 15th century, the church was rebuilt as a single-nave Gothic structure.

On St Mark’s Day in 1432, Passau Bishop Leonhart von Laiming solemnly consecrated the new building as the new Church of St Martin. The construction and consecration mark different points in time: the new building from the early 15th century was followed by its solemn dedication in 1432. Together with the hill spur, this creates a historical connection that encompasses both the site and the church’s architectural history. For travellers interested in church architecture and local history, the parish church is a point of interest in its own right.

Culture and beekeepers’ products

One cultural event from the recent past was the INNtöne Jazz Festival. It took place from 18 to 20 July 2025 at the Buchmannhof in Diersbach. If you would like to plan an event for a different travel period, check the current dates.

Beekeepers also offer a local connection: beekeepers at the Diersbach Beekeepers’ Association offer honey and other bee products. Check locally in advance to find out which products are available.

If you are looking for a hotel in Diersbach, you can first decide what you want to focus on during your trip: hiking based on route length, landscapes and distant views, or the history of the parish church.
