Steyrling can be explored through several distinct themes: hikes with different destinations, cycling routes each with their own connection to the village, a bathing biotope, and religious and craft history. When planning, it helps to consider these options as separate highlights. The Fischbach circular trail returns to the village; one stage of the Steyrtal Cycle Path reaches Steyrling as its destination. Ice-stock curling is another option, specifically a winter activity.

Hikes ranging from a village circular trail to a viewpoint

The Fischbach circular trail starts opposite the Raiffeisen Bank in Steyrling, passes the bathing biotope and returns to the village. Its starting point and return route make it easy to follow. If you are looking for a hike with a different destination, you can walk from Steyrling via the Pastorensteig and Kaltauer Graben to the pyramid on Spitzmauer. The Pastorensteig also leads to a summit with panoramic views of the Kremstal.

These trails offer different highlights: the Fischbach circular trail includes a starting point in the village and a return there; the hike via the Pastorensteig is associated with the pyramid on Spitzmauer and panoramic views of the Kremstal. The Brunnental offers another way to experience the landscape. The trail there follows the Steyrling River through the valley. This lets you choose between a loop connected to the village, a hike to named destinations, and a route along the river and through the valley.

Bathing biotope, church and local history

The Steyrling bathing biotope is a bathing facility located along the Fischbach circular trail: the route passes it before returning to the village. Operating details may change; check them before visiting if you are making the bathing biotope a fixed part of your plans. This lets you combine the walk with a swimming option without assuming a particular schedule for your stay.

The Catholic parish church of the “Immaculate Conception of Mary” is dedicated to this title. Together with Moser Chapel, it is protected as a historic monument by decree; both are listed in the Federal Monuments Authority’s inventory dated 23 June 2026. A Mass is scheduled at the parish church for Sundays at 10:00 a.m. Check before visiting whether this time is still current.

Local history also reflects a tradition of craftsmanship. Michael Piesslinger from Steyrling was one of the region’s more significant scythe producers. A glassworks on the Zösenbach is also mentioned from the early 17th century. These references to scythe production and glass complement the religious architectural history with another perspective on the village’s past.

Cycling routes and a winter activity

The Klaus stage of the Steyrtal Cycle Path reaches Steyrling as its destination. The route of the Pyhrn-Priel Panorama Cycle Tour is different: it crosses the old railway bridge into the Brunnental and the village of Steyrling. These route connections are useful for orientation: on one route, Steyrling is the stage destination; on the other, the path crosses the bridge into the Brunnental.

The Klausner Wirt in Steyrling has a rink for traditional winter ice-stock curling. If this seasonal activity is important to your trip, check in advance whether the rink will be available during your stay. The hiking trails, cycle routes and cultural attractions can be considered independently, according to your own interests.
