Sankt Radegund brings together hiking trails, cycling connections and places commemorating Jägerstätter. If you are looking for a holiday apartment, it helps to decide first what you want to focus on during your stay: would you like to spend more time outdoors on the trails, or would you prefer to include cultural and historical sites? The different types of trails and memorial sites offer practical points of reference. You can give activities different weight according to your interests without having to plan a fixed daily schedule straight away.

Hiking Trails and the Weilhartsforst

There are four signposted hiking trails in the municipality. The Via Nova Trail runs directly through Sankt Radegund, as does the Ruperti Long-Distance Trail 10a. This information offers two ways to orient yourself: the number of signposted trails in the municipality and the named routes that pass through Sankt Radegund. This allows you to distinguish local hiking trails from named routes when planning. A large proportion of the municipality of Sankt Radegund is covered by the Weilharts and Lach forests. The forest is considered a natural treasure and is particularly interesting for hikers and cyclists. Well-marked hiking trails lead through the natural landscape of the Weilhartsforst around Sankt Radegund. The walk to the Heil-Bründl Chapel is said to take about 1.5 hours. For planning a tour, this is a different point of reference from the number of signposted trails: the approximate walking time applies to the Heil-Bründl Chapel, while the four trails are in the municipality.

Cycling: Tauern Cycle Path and Pump Track

The Jagdkapelle St. Radegund is located in the middle of the forest, directly on the Tauern Cycle Path. The pump track in Sankt Radegund was built in 2021 as part of a combined cycling route with a playground. These are different cycling connections: the Jagdkapelle is directly on a named cycle route, while the pump track is part of a purpose-built cycling facility with a playground. When planning, you can distinguish between the route of a cycle path and a specific type of recreational facility.

Jägerstätter House and the Franz Jägerstätter Trail

Jägerstätter House is a museum and memorial at the former home and workplace of Franz and Franziska Jägerstätter. Registration is required for a visit, so be sure to factor this into your plans. The Franz Jägerstätter Trail runs between Jägerstätter House and the parish church and is about 1.5 km long. In part, it follows the route Franz Jägerstätter took to church every day. Thus, in addition to its approximate length, the trail also has a specific biographical connection. The house and the trail offer different points of interest: one is a museum and memorial, while the other reflects a historical route.

Parish Church and Heil-Bründl Chapel

As part of a comprehensive renovation, the altar and interior of St. Radegund Parish Church were redesigned in summer 2015. The Heil-Bründl Chapel has a different history: a fire destroyed it in 1980; it was rebuilt in 1981 and subsequently consecrated. Visiting both places during your stay brings you into contact with different historical reference points—a redesign of a church interior and the reconstruction of a chapel after a fire.
