Tratten offers a range of routes for walks and hikes: an easy loop with a set distance, a running route through forests and fields, a destination at the Pass Chapel, or a tour through several districts. You can choose based on whether distance, scenery, a specific destination, or the route through named places is most important to you.

Walking and hiking routes

The walking trail to the Sachsenbrunn ponds is an easy circular route, 2.54 kilometres long. It starts and ends at the Molzbachhof. Parking is available directly at the Molzbachhof and at the Sachsenbrunn grammar school car park. The distance, easy rating, and circular route give you three specific points to consider when planning this walk.

The Kirchberg running route also starts and ends at the Hotel Molzbachhof. Its varied scenery takes in forests and fields. This makes it different in focus from the ponds loop: the Kirchberg route highlights running and scenery, while the walk to the Sachsenbrunn ponds is described as an easy loop with a precisely stated distance. Both routes have the same starting and finishing point, but different profiles.

The Pass Chapel loop has another point of interest: its destination. The loop starts, among other places, at the Hotel Molzbachhof in the Tratten district, follows hiking trails to the Pass Chapel, and then returns to the village. The route thus links a named starting point with a chapel as its destination and a return to the village.

The Hasleiten loop offers a different way to orient yourself: it passes through the districts of Sellhof, Sachsenbrunn, and Tratten. While the chapel is the focus of the Pass Chapel loop, Hasleiten can be identified by the sequence of places along the route. This makes a practical difference when choosing: you can consider a loop by its destination or by the districts it passes through.

Mill, show garden, and sound massage

Fresh bread is baked regularly at the Molzbachhof Experience Mill from spring through autumn. This seasonal period is part of the offering. If you plan your trip during one of these seasons, that is when the bread-baking activity takes place.

At the heart of the Paradiesgart'l show garden are a clear natural pond, an energy island, and a rushing waterfall. The garden also features a Celtic tree circle. Together, the natural pond, energy island, and waterfall form the central area of the show garden; the tree circle adds another clearly named feature to the garden.

Sound massage is another area of interest in its own right: BODY&MIND – Evelyn Hottwagner offers sound massage with therapeutic singing bowls at Tratten 322. If you would like to include this offering in your travel plans, check availability directly in advance.

Planning your routes

Taking bus route 369 from Aspang station to Tratten is one option for getting to the Pass Chapel loop. Check the timetable for your travel date before making plans. You can also choose a route based on its particular focus: the length and rating of the walking trail, the forests and fields along the Kirchberg running route, the Pass Chapel as a destination, or the sequence of places on the Hasleiten loop. This lets you tailor your outing to what interests you most along the way.
