River pools, a natural swimming area, and a rustic stone church give Cavalango different points of interest for a stay. The RĂo Los Chorrillos flows through the town, forming pools and natural diving boards between the rocks. On warm summer days, the Balneario Los Socavones natural swimming area offers a place to cool off. Depending on your interests, you can get to know Cavalango through its riverside landscape or local culture.

River Landscape and Natural Swimming Area

The RĂo Los Chorrillos flows through Cavalango, forming pools and natural diving boards between the rocks. There is also an artisan promenade at the main balneario. The Balneario Los Socavones natural swimming area offers a place to cool off on warm summer days. The Cascadas Las Hoyas complex is located near the Arroyo Los Chorrillos and is surrounded by natural landscapes. This makes a difference when choosing: the river is known for its pools between the rocks, Los Socavones for cooling off on warm summer days, and Las Hoyas for a complex surrounded by natural landscapes along the arroyo.

Getting There

From CĂłrdoba Capital, the route follows RN 20 and then the Autopista Justiniano Posse through Villa Carlos Paz. Cavalango is also accessible by bus with the Fonobus bus company. You can therefore plan your trip around the road route or bus connection; if you travel with Fonobus, it is worth checking the current timetable.

Culture and Local Traditions

The Iglesia San Cayetano is a rustic stone church founded by Monseñor Castellano in 1957. The Morteros Chelko-Kamiare are considered ancestral sites of historical and cultural significance. The patron saint celebrations in honor of Saint Cajetan include a procession, a gaucho parade, live music, traditional foods, and handicrafts. These points of interest offer different options for those interested in culture: the church is a specific building, the Morteros represent ancestral sites, and the patron saint celebrations are a local festival tradition. A specific culinary event was the third edition of Cabalango al Disco on July 18, 2026: it featured food stalls and dishes prepared on the disc.

A guided trekking tour on December 30 went from 3 Cascadas to Trompa del Elefante; residents and visitors could take part and explore the trails there. Unlike the fixed landmarks of the church and Morteros, this tour connected a starting point with a destination and offered a guided way to explore the trails.
