The nine-kilometer Camino de los Artesanos connects La Cumbre with Villa Giardino. The unpaved route is accessible only by car or bicycle. Along the Camino, artisan homes and organic farms display handmade goods. The selection includes ceramics, woodwork, basketry, costume jewelry, metalwork, wool goods, textiles and semi-precious stonework, as well as sweets, cured meats, liqueurs and homemade preserves. This combines a practical choice of how to get around with an insight into local craft and food traditions.

River Landscapes and Swimming Spots

The RĂo San JerĂłnimo flows through La Cumbre. In its wooded areas, you can enjoy meals outdoors. Balneario El Chorrito has two large pools built in the natural riverbed, as well as a mineral water spring. It is a few blocks from Plaza 25 de Mayo. The river areas and pools offer different ways to enjoy a stay by the water.

A Climb, Views and Horseback Riding

The climb to Cristo Redentor follows a well-marked 600-meter ascent. From there, you can enjoy panoramic views of La Cumbre and the western part of the Sierras Chicas. The elevated vantage point gives this outing a different focus from the wooded areas along the RĂo San JerĂłnimo.

Horseback riding is another option in La Cumbre. Routes include trails along the banks of the RĂo Pinto. Alongside the marked ascent, this offers another way to experience the landscape by following a specific route.

Houses, Streetscape and Local History

Casa Museo Manuel Mujica Lainez is in the Cruz Chica neighborhood, about three kilometers from the center of La Cumbre. Its Spanish-style façade and gardens define the site. Since July 1987, the house has been presented to visitors as it appeared during the writer’s lifetime. Its location, architecture and preserved presentation offer visitors different historical perspectives.

Buildings along what is now Avenida Caraffa, between Rivadavia and Belgrano, retain façades that are more than a century old. This specific stretch of street makes this part of the historic streetscape easy to identify.

The Museo de Historia y Patrimonio de La Cumbre displays, among other things, the town’s first movie projector, which was coal-powered, as well as historical photographs. While Casa Museo focuses on the presentation of a writer’s home, the history museum brings together local history, photographs and a technical object from the early days of cinema.
