Las Flores Partido offers several themes to consider when planning your trip: historical culture in the city of Las Flores, a walk through Pardo, or rural experiences in Rosas and at El Gualichu. You can make your choice based on whether you are most interested in architecture and local history, a village and its themes, or nature by the water. These places offer different impressions rather than a fixed itinerary.

History in the City of Las Flores

The city of Las Flores lies between two lagoons in the Río Salado watershed. Its history includes several buildings and collections from different periods. The Museo de Ciencias Naturales was founded in 1971 following expeditions along the waterways of the Salado basin. Its collection includes fossils of Pleistocene mammals. The Iglesia Nuestra Señora del Carmen was built in 1873 to a design by architect Pedro Petrocchi. Its stained-glass windows at the entrance, created by Carlos Pallarols and Carlos Ruiz Santana, underscore its cultural value.

Another historic stop is El Mirador: the building was constructed in 1850 using bricks donated by Rosas, and served as a hospital during the Mitrist Revolution of 1874. It has been declared historic cultural heritage and retains its original structure. The Escuela Normal, which opened in 1917, is also considered heritage for its architecture. Together, these buildings and the natural history museum offer different points of interest if you are interested in the city's history.

Rural Experiences and Regional Food

In the heart of Rosas, A Casa Mia offers a day trip experience in the countryside. Traditional recipes are prepared there using produce from its own agroecological garden. Bodega La Blanqueada offers wine tastings and guided tours. Check whether these offerings are available on your travel dates before you go.

Regional food can also be a focus in the city of Las Flores: at the Feria AgroecolĂłgica, small-scale producers offer honey, baked goods, seasonal vegetables, beer, sweets and other food products. The selection ranges from produce from small businesses to the dishes A Casa Mia prepares using garden ingredients. These are two different ways to discover regional food.

By the Water: Balneario del arroyo El Gualichu

About 25 kilometers south of the city of Las Flores, on Provincial Route No. 30, lies Balneario del arroyo El Gualichu. A winding stream and wooded banks shape the landscape. You can fish, camp and spend time outdoors with your family there. This offers a clear contrast with the city's buildings and collections: here, the stream and wooded banks take center stage.

Pardo: Village Walk and History

From the city of Las Flores, the route to Pardo follows RN 3: it is 40 kilometers to the turnoff, followed by another 2.5 kilometers on a paved road. A walk through the village streets connects themes such as railways, nature and literature. Check the walk details before your visit if this stroll is an important part of your plans.

Pardo's history can also be explored through specific places. The Capilla Nuestra Señora del Socorro was founded in 1892 and declared part of the historic-cultural heritage of Las Flores Partido. The Museo y Biblioteca Adolfo Bioy Casares lists its visiting hours as Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.; admission is free. Check the opening hours before you go. This lets you choose between a walk through the village and a visit to the museum in Pardo, without treating the two as the same experience.
