For a stay in Costa Del Este, you can consider the beach and the forest as two distinct focal points. The peaceful beaches invite you to go for walks. Bosque “La Reserva” offers another way to connect with nature; the forest is also accessible from the beach. If you are looking for accommodation, you can first consider whether beach walks, wildlife observation or a mix of both will shape your stay.

Dunes, Pine Trees and Forest Vegetation

Costa Del Este is known by the nickname “la playa del millón de pinos” (“the beach of a million pine trees”). Broad dunes and pine groves define the landscape along the beach. In the forest, you will find dunes covered with tamarisks, areas with pine needle litter and pampas grass, as well as several native shrub species. The coast and Bosque therefore have distinct landscape features. If you enjoy observing nature, you can plan time at the beach and a forest walk as different ways to experience nature during your stay.

Walks and Wildlife Observation in Bosque

Bosque “La Reserva” has a loop trail for walks and bike rides. The forest is also suitable for observing wildlife and birds. Two entrances provide specific reference points: one is at Las Camelias Street and Avenida 5, and the other at Avenida Interbalnearia and Avenida 6. Bosque “La Reserva” is also accessible from the beach. You can therefore make the forest a focal point in its own right or take it into account alongside your time at the beach when planning your stay.

Beach Areas to the North and South

Two specific directions can help you find your way along the beach. Playa de Costa Del Este extends north from the beach access at Avenida 1 to Street 99 in Mar del Tuyú; from the beach access at Avenida 6, it runs south. At its northern and southern ends, the peaceful beaches invite you to go for walks. Using these access points, you can plan a beach walk in a northerly or southerly direction rather than viewing the coast as one continuous stretch.

The Chapel and Local Connections

The “Sagrado Corazón de Jesús” chapel offers a cultural perspective. Its architectural style complements the pine forests of Costa Del Este; at the same time, the chapel reflects neighborhood solidarity and collective work. It thus brings architecture into view alongside the community background of the town. Another local point of interest is the old shipwreck on the beach, known as “Barco de la Galleta.” Its real name and origin remain unknown.

About the Town

Costa Del Este is also an institutional point of reference in Partido de La Costa: the Partido's Secretaría de Turismo (Tourism Secretariat) is based here and is responsible for tourism regulation.
