In the founding centre of the Partido de Berazategui is the Complejo Municipal San Francisco. Two distinct perspectives on local history come together there: the Muvi focuses on Cristalerías Rigolleau and its glass-industry workers, while the Museo del Golf Roberto De Vicenzo explores the golfer’s family, social and sporting life. The area also offers natural spaces, birdwatching, handicrafts and a connection to the river at the Costa de Hudson. Berazategui can therefore be explored through several clearly distinct travel themes.

Glass History and Golf Culture

The Muvi, also known as the Museo del Vidrio, is located in the same Complejo San Francisco. Its historical tour tells the story of CristalerĂas Rigolleau and its workers, most of whom were immigrants. The exhibition thus links the history of the glass industry with the perspective of its predominantly immigrant workforce.

The Museo del Golf Roberto De Vicenzo is housed in the former core of a rural estate. The building is distinctly neocolonial in style; the museum opened on May 13, 2006. Its museographic exhibition presents family, social and sporting moments from the golfer’s life through objects, photographs, awards and sports equipment. By comparison, the Muvi focuses on an industry and its workers, while the golf museum places an individual and various aspects of his life at its centre.

Natural Areas and Birdwatching

Parque Pereyra Iraola covers 10,248 hectares and extends across the Partidos of Berazategui, Florencio Varela, Ensenada and La Plata; part of the park lies in Berazategui. The Reserva Natural de Punta Lara also lies partly within the Partido. It protects habitats of the RĂo de la Plata ecosystem: reed beds, riverside thickets, wetlands, grassland and a stretch of gallery forest. The reserve is also a birdwatching destination and is among the areas in the Province of Buenos Aires with the highest concentration of birds. A large park spanning several Partidos and a reserve with diverse riverside habitats thus offer distinct nature-focused experiences.

Another perspective is offered by Parque Municipal de la Familia y los Animales. Its recreational areas include a sundial and children’s playgrounds; it also features numerous native plant species. A summer programme announced in February 2026 also included the Granja Educativa: visitors could see rescued animals cared for by professionals from the municipal veterinary clinic.

Handicrafts and a Connection to the River

The Feria Nacional Berazategui ArtesanĂas takes place annually and is open to visitors free of charge. Visitors can browse and buy unique pieces made from ceramics, metal, leather, paper and glass, as well as plant and animal fibres. If you plan your trip around the fair, check the event dates in advance.

For geographical orientation, the Costa de Hudson is a prominent landmark: it is the Partido de Berazategui’s only developed access point to the Río de la Plata. The river connection is therefore one of the destination’s distinctive features.

A Look at the Wider Region

In the wider region, the ECAS offers interpretive trails with eight stops. They explore ecological interactions between native and exotic species, as well as historical and cultural aspects of Parque Pereyra Iraola. The Casco de estancia Santa Rosa, one of the park’s most significant historic buildings, is also located there. The ECAS brings together nature, history and culture, while Santa Rosa offers a distinctive architectural landmark.

If you’re looking for hotels in Berazategui, first decide which focus you want to shape your stay: cultural history, handicrafts tied to an annual event, or nature and birdwatching. These themes offer different ways to tailor your trip to your interests.
